#WriteMotivation, Gardens, and Nephews

I got so little writing done this week it’s not even funny.

But the house is starting to look more organized, and rooms that desperately needed cleaning are getting cleaned.

I also finally got some plants in the ground. Poor little things were desperately root bound, so I’m hoping those will start to perk up again in a day or so.

Annd… as of yesterday morning (very early yesterday morning), I’m an aunt! Woohoo! I have not yet met my nephew, but I’m sure the opportunity will arise in the next few days. In the meantime, I’m sure the new parents need all the rest they can get. Though I’ll give mom a call later this afternoon, see how things are going.

Also getting into gear and designing a new chicken coop/enclosure. But that’s a post for another day in and of itself.

#WriteMotivation!

  1. Finish Camp NaNo goals – Still haven’t looked at this.
  2. Work on A-Zs of Worldbuilding notebook – No progress since last week. Blah.
  3. Read – Been working on this! I’ve read the first two volumes of Puella Magi Madoka Magica, and now have to wait nearly two weeks for the third volume to be available at the library.

Yay future chicken post! If there is one gift you want to give your bestie in the wake of having a new baby, go to her house someday shortly after she gets out of the hospital and watch the baby/do housework while she NAPS. Maybe do that more than once lol. I was ready to KILL for naps the first two months after Maggie was born. Seriously, having a newborn for the first time around is like getting hit by a train. Except people don’t expect you to be happy and perky after getting hit by a train, and they do after you have a baby 😛

Aw! The aunt/uncle thing is the best. You rile the kids up and then send ’em back to their parents. It’s a fun and delightful way to be passive/aggressive with your siblings.

On another note, the OCD part of my brain says, “Don’t be down on yourself. Writing is good, but writing in a clean house is better!”

It’s actually my best friend’s baby, but she’s practically a sister. 😉 And it’ll be a couple years yet before I can rile the kiddo up.

I’m not holding my breath on getting nieces/nephews from either my real siblings or my in-laws. Especially since the youngest in-law is still only 17. If he makes me an aunt, there’s going to be some serious responsibility talks.

Writing in a clean house is good, but sadly for me a clean house in sorely indicative of ‘writer’s block’.
