Carol of the Bells/Sing We Now of Christmas – My 25 Favorite Christmas Songs (Dec 6)

I know… it’s a cliché song. The medley with Sing We Now of Christmas is pretty much perfect, though, in my books.

If there’s anything my mother and grandmother instilled in me as a child, it’s an appreciation for beautiful music.

And probably what has surprised me the most is that my favorite rendition of this song is done by BarlowGirl.

If you’re familiar with any of their music, it doesn’t really fall into the traditional Christmas music category – not even most of their Christmas album does that. But for some reason, they chose to do this song fairly true to its traditional performance, and it’s really a breathtaking showcase of the group’s vocal abilities.

Every time I listen to this rendition, I get chills. Some songs are just like that.

“I have told you these things, that in me you may have peace. In the world you have trouble; but cheer up! I have overcome the world.”
