Hark! The Herald Angels Sing – My 25 Favorite Christmas Songs (Dec 18)

This song has been a favorite of mine since I was young. I couldn’t tell you why, but it has.

This is also one of those songs that I can say is a favorite, but I wouldn’t necessarily be able to point out a favorite version of it, because it has to be done right.

Organs are good. Orchestra is good. And good vocals are vital.

I must have listened to 20 different versions of Hark! The Herald Angels Sing before settling on this one for this post – it had that sense of majesty to it that this song demands.

(It has absolutely nothing to do with my deep, abiding love for Downton Abbey. Absolutely nothing. :P)

So, enjoy!

But to you who fear my name shall the sun of righteousness arise with healing in its wings.
