An Unintentional Hiatus

I really didn’t mean to not post this week.

And honestly, I don’t have time to post yet.

Because I had this genius idea – I wanted to have a birthday party! (My birthday is Friday, just fyi. I have a wish list if you really, really, really wanted to get me something. But seriously, you don’t have to. All I really want is comments. :D)

So I put out an event on FB, and I invited all my family and friends, and I also thought that it’d be nice to, you know, do dinner.

But ordering-in is definitely not in my budget.

So I decided to make pizza.

Mmmm, pizza.
Mmmm, pizza.

And then I tallied up RSVPs after they finished coming in.

I have at least 25 people coming.

That’s a lot of pizza. And a lot of cheese. Cheese is expensive. But still not as expensive as ordering-in for nearly 30 people.

Cheeeeeeeeeese.
Cheeeeeeeeeese.

So, I am not blogging this week. I am baking. And cleaning. Wheee.

Oh, and by the way, for cake? It’s going to be Black Magic cake (chocolate, basically) with Salted Caramel Buttercream frosting. Mmmmm.

Yes, I am making my own birthday cake. I’ve made my own birthday cake almost every year since I was 12. What’s so odd about that?

My cake will... look better than this. I hope.

Happy Birthday to me!

When was the last time you bit off way more than you could chew, completely by accident?

  1. Yay for parties! If only I didn’t live a billion hours away and could party crash…

Making your own cake is not weird. I would totally do the same! Half the fun of cake is making it!

  2. Happy soon to be birthday!

But you got it all backwards. People should be doing things for YOU on your birthday. What’s this “I’m cleaning, making pizza and baking my own cake” stuff?

    Wrong. All wrong.

    1. I’m honestly just happy that I finally got my husband to put his clean clothes in the dresser instead of having them live in the laundry basket eternally. And that we finally got the mirror hung up.

      😀
