O Holy Night – My 25 Favorite Christmas Songs (Dec 10)

This song probably comes close to topping my favorite Christmas songs of all time, list. Like, if I was doing these in any particular order, it would be somewhere in my top five songs. For certain.

I won’t lie, though. I had to listen to every rendition of this song that I had on Spotify – all four of them – to decide which was my absolute favorite.

If you’re curious, the other three versions I have are sung by Celtic Woman, Emmy Rossum, and Bing Crosby.

There is certainly no end of options when it comes to picking your favorite version of O Holy Night.

She gave birth to her firstborn son. She wrapped him in bands of cloth, and laid him in a feeding trough, because there was no room for them in the inn.

If O Holy Night happens to be one of your favorite Christmas songs, too, what’s your favorite version of it?

PS – Check out yesterday’s post if you would like to get a Christmas card from me! The form is close to the bottom of that post.

My favorite rendition of this perfectly beautiful song is sung by a woman back in the late 60s or early 70s. I have no clue what her name is, but I would play this song over and over on my mom’s old stereo/record player. It was a beautifully rich song on LP and I wish I could find it.

My second favorite is done y TSO and is all instrumental.

Aw, it’s always so aggravating when you have a favorite version of a song, but for all the hunting you do, you can’t find it!

I actually have a couple upcoming in this ‘favorites’ series that were like that for me.

I know I’ve heard the TSO version of O Holy Night… but I can’t place it in my memory, currently. I’ll go look that up. 🙂
