All Things Bright and Beautiful – My Favorite Hymns

Well, I’m not going to finish posting this series by the end of the year anymore, but I am going to finish the series!

For the introduction and the first song, you can visit “The Old Rugged Cross – My Favorite Hymns.”

All Things Bright and Beautiful

All Things Bright and Beautiful was written by Cecil Frances Alexander. She was born in Dublin, Ireland, married an Anglican clergyman six years her junior, and wrote many poems and hymns in her lifetime.

This song in particular was first published in her book Hymns for Little Children in 1848. Hymns for Little Children was in its 69th edition by the end of the 19th century.

About Rebekah

Rebekah Loper writes character-driven epic fantasy featuring resilient women in trying and impossible circumstances who just want to save themselves but usually end up saving the world, often while falling in love.
She lives in Tulsa, OK with her husband, dog, two formerly feral cats, a small flock of feathered dragons (...chickens. They're chickens), and an extensive tea collection. When she's not writing, she battles the Oklahoma elements in an effort to create a productive, permaculture urban homestead.
