And So It Begins… May, That Is. And #WriteMotivation.

I debated long and hard about doing an A-Z Reflections post, and… my weekend fizzled out before it even begun, it feels like.

I can say that I’m insanely proud of the fact that, while this is my 2nd time to participate in A-Z, this is my FIRST time to complete it in a timely manner.

I met lots of wonderful people, though I was extremely picky about how many people I followed, and I didn’t get through nearly as much of the list as I wanted to. I am going to attempt to get back to the list and poke around a few more blogs at least once a week… but no promises.

I am going to go through everyone who commented on my A-Z posts and make sure and visit you guys, if I haven’t already.

But my goodness, what a weekend it was…

It was a good weekend, but I… overextended myself on Saturday, evidently, and as I’m writing this Sunday morning, my left knee is so stiff and achy I can barely walk. Which is bad, because I need to do garden things. But garden things will just have to wait.

So, onto #WriteMotivation!

  1. Finish Camp NaNo goals – I completed 4 hours of editing and 1000 words toward my goal of 40 hours of editing and 20k new words. So. My May goal is now 36 hours of editing and 19k new words.

  2. Work on A-Zs of Worldbuilding notebook – first step needs to be importing all the separate posts into WriteWay. And then I need to start going through and figure out where I want to add content. Wheee.

  3. Read – I finished a book this weekend! I’d already started it late in April, though. But still! Book finished! An honest-to-God actual paper book, too. Not an ebook. Aren’t you proud of me? 😀

I totally read the title of your blog in Theoden’s voice, just FYI. 😀

And yay for finishing books! Books are great. I have a feeling I’ll be reading a lot of them in a couple of weeks.

Good luck on your goals this month! 🙂

(Also, HOW ARE WE ALREADY 5 DAYS INTO MAY? How did that happen?)

GOOD. THAT WAS THE INTENT. BWAHAHAHA. *ahem*

I may have already half finished another book so far today… ladeedah…

(I DON’T KNOW. THAT MEANS MY BIRTHDAY IS IN 25 DAYS AND I HAVEN’T DECIDED WHAT TO DO YET.)

I’m not sure WHICH activity on Saturday it was, Maria. I walked around a thrift store for a couple hours, then my sister and I planted a peach tree, and then I hauled straw around, and then cleaned the kitchen. So… yeah. I’m thinking it was probably something with the peach tree, though.

Fortunately it seems to be almost back to normal today. I spent half the day icing it yesterday, and that improved it a lot. I’m thrilled to actually be able to walk around and do things today!

It’d been a while since I just sat down with a paper book and ignored everything else. Reading paper is so much easier on the eyes than reading on a backlit screen, too. And my Kindle just doesn’t have the weight to it that a good book does, you know?

What do you think?
