We’re not far from Christmas, quite literally now, since we’re five days out. And this song is a reminder, to me, to not get so caught up in the busy of last-minute gift-buying, and baking, and gift-wrapping, but to take a minute and remember why this season is so hopeful in the first place.
It’s one of the reasons I enjoy Advent so much – it’s the anticipation. We’ve been on a journey, and now we’re nearing the end. The culmination.
The fulfillment of our hope.
Now faith is assurance of things hoped for, proof of things not seen.

I don’t think I’ve wanted a purchased Christmas gift in years. These days I just hope for a peaceful holiday.
Oh, and a few good writing days. 😉
