I’ve been trying to come up with a witty title for this post for about three days. I decided I should probably just write the thing, and THEN figure out a witty title. Right? Right.
I have a confession to make. I like lists.
I like lists a lot. Lissa shares my love of lists, and she even got me LIST MAKING SUPPLIES for one of my Christmas gifts.
I might need a support group. Does Lists Anonymous exist?
Maybe I should start it.
Or maybe not. I have enough on my plate for this next year, honestly.
Which is what you’re really here for, right?
Ladies and gents, please pull up a seat for the over-done List of Things I Resolve To Do in 2015 that you have probably now seen from nearly every blogger you follow.
I’ve deliberately kept some of these things vague. Partly because then I would have a really long list (which I do have more specific goals for some of these written down in a notebook), and also because I’ve learned the past few years that I’m more likely to accomplish things if I’m not super-detailed trying to explain them to others.
Moving on…
Rebekah’s Illustrious List of Things She’d Like to Accomplish in 2015
Be Healthy
- Eat better. Take vitamins.
- I could do better about watching my sodium intake, and I really need to eat more fresh fruits and vegetables. And I have definitely slacked on taking my vitamin D. Oops.
- Be active.
- Having an energetic puppy really helps with this. But I still need to do some actual stretching, or weights, or something to get my blood flowing a bit more, you know?
- Floss more.
- Because I’m getting tired of getting that talk at the dentist.
Be Happy
- Make Bekah Introvert Day a regular thing.
- Yeah, I had an Introvert Day set aside this past Friday. Because hubby had been off for Christmas for 9 days (Christmas Eve-New Year’s Day), and I was feeling over-socialized and over-stimulated. I ended the day feeling very refreshed, and like I’d been able to accomplish SO MUCH. So this needs to happen more.
- Spend more quality time with friends.
- As much as I am an introvert, there’s never anything quite as disconcerting as when you hit a rough patch in your life and you just need someone, and then you realize you don’t have very many people because… you don’t get out. You don’t make an effort to connect.
I need to find a balance. But there are people who I like, and who I once considered friends – even close ones – that I’ve grown apart from, and I’d like to at least make the effort to reconnect with them this year.
- As much as I am an introvert, there’s never anything quite as disconcerting as when you hit a rough patch in your life and you just need someone, and then you realize you don’t have very many people because… you don’t get out. You don’t make an effort to connect.
- Get at least two massages this year.
- I really debated putting this under ‘be healthy’. But as much as massages are physically good for you, they are more of a splurge for me, because of time and budget constraints. But they do help me feel better – both emotionally and physically – so I need to remember to splurge on myself a little more often.
- Do something phenomenal before I turn 30.
- Yup. I turn the big 3-0 this year. And I want to do something before then, something BIG, but I have no idea what. I’m open to suggestions that are affordable ($100 or less), safe (skydiving is a huge NOPE.), and within a hundred or so miles of Tulsa, OK.
Be Productive
- Write more.
- I made very little progress on any of my major writing projects this year, and it’s a bit disheartening to look back and see that. So, write more. Yes. This is a Thing that shall happen.
- Same as above.
- Grow more.
- In the garden. Not around my waistline. While I had a massive tomato crop this past year… that was the only thing that did well. I would like to grow more than just tomatoes.
- Craft more.
- I miss crocheting and sewing and just being creative away from the computer.
- Stick to the budget.
- This should be self-explanatory.
And, as I said, I have some more specific goals jotted down elsewhere. I’m thinking about sharing those, and my overall progress toward Things, whenever I accomplish something significant. We’ll see.
My post title is not so witty. Oh well.

January 6, 2015 - 12:34 pm ·Lists Anonymous! An Anon group in which we don’t sit down and say “Hi my name is…”, we fill out a questionnaire, have a check sheet to make sure we’ve read everyone else’s “about me”s, make a plan for next week’s meeting, and agree to jot down ideas between now and then just in case something else comes up. Yes?

January 6, 2015 - 1:01 pm ·Hold on. A list is a list, but once you start throwin’ in subheads, you’re an “outliner.” That takes list making to a whole new level. You are an Outed Outliner. That makes you, list-wise, an outlier.

January 6, 2015 - 1:55 pm ·IT’S A BULLETED LIST. HUSH YOU.

January 6, 2015 - 4:01 pm ·Something fabulous for 2015? Most writer conferences are pricey, but you might be able to go for one day at a reduced price. I’d see what was available near your area.

January 7, 2015 - 7:31 pm ·Sadly, there is only one conference ‘near’ me before my birthday, and they’ve slacked a bit this year on posting registration info, so I have no idea if that’s even possible. It’s a fantastic conference, I’ve been before and would love to go again, but… yeah.

January 6, 2015 - 5:28 pm ·I think for List Anonymous, you should make a list of what it would entail. 😉
Good luck with your goals!

January 7, 2015 - 3:06 pm ·I love that you’re so in touch with your introversion. (I’m a total introvert too, so I definitely understand where your coming from and I revel in days when I’m home alone.) Too many people don’t appreciate it as they should. It’s such a gift. 🙂

January 8, 2015 - 3:25 pm ·Man, I hear you on Be Happy #2. I have the same problem.
A regular Introvert Day sounds great, too. My husband and I both work at home, so alone time is pretty rare. Although he’s pretty introverted, too, so it’s not like we’re talking constantly.
I actually just posted about how my year’s going so far. I’d like to have written more, but otherwise, so far so good.
