April Shenanigans!

How is it already April 6th? How have I made it this far into April and… well… not even mentioned Camp NaNo on the blog?

Yup, Camp NaNo. I am doing it. On top of all the garden things.
Yup, Camp NaNo. I am doing it. On top of all the garden things.

Because reasons.

Well, mainly one reason.

That reason being I’ve barely written anything this year, and I need to change that. I have Writing Things I want to accomplish this year, so I have to get the ball rolling somehow.

My Camp NaNo project for April 2015 is, well… the Worldbuilding Workbook I wanted to have complete last summer, expanding on the posts I wrote for last year’s A-Z Challenge.

Oops.

I’m doing SO WELL, so far, too. I’ve written for 2 out of 6 days in April so far.

Double oops.

At least there’s a little progress?

P.S. Completely unrelated, but exciting: I’m finally joining the 21st century! This week, I’ll be upgrading to a SMARTPHONE. An actual Android phone, ya’ll. It’s so weird but so exciting.

P.P.S. This has been your random post of the week. Or month. Something. Random is awesome!

2 days is better than no days! As soon as I started reading this I was like “Oooh, Camp Nano! I should do that…wait a second…children…chickens…garden…house…church…better not.” I would welcome you to the 21st century but I haven’t joined it yet myself lol.

Yay for joining the Camp shenanigans! 🙂

Any days that writing happens are good days, so celebrate those 2 days! I’m doing the #AtoZChallenge for the first time this year, so I’m counting those posts toward my Camp goal. My main Camp project is revision work, though, and I’ve done… well… none of that. I’m hoping to get ahead on my A-to-Z posts so that I’ll be able to spend a bit more concentrated time on revision. Keep us posted on your Camp progress! You can do it!!!

There is no bad reason to use the word shenanigan. Unless it’s resulted in hurting someone, lol. But shenanigans are supposed to be fun, I think. Because the word just sounds fun. 😀

I’m doing the challenge and not CampNaNo. Honestly, I tried CampNaNo last year, but it wasn’t for me. I don’t know why, I didn’t fit in. So I think I won’t try it again, not in the near future.

But I think challenges are good, so you should definitely start working on it. It souldn’t be that hard, since, as I understand it, you already have the skeleton of the work.
Believe me, when you have a skeleton, all you need to do is sit down, read it through and the words will come by themsleves. Try it 🙂

I don’t get the same momentum from Camp NaNo that I do regular NaNo, but I’ve found it does do well to kick-start me back into writing if I’ve slacked off, which almost always happens.

It really is helping to have a major amount of material ready to pull from – at the least, I have an extremely detailed outline.

Two outta six days is better than two other alternatives — so don’t sweat it!

As for smartphones, be prepared for the time suck. It takes all of my will power to keep from farting around on mine.

What do you think?
